60 Day Warranty – 1stBike


This document details the specific terms and conditions of the 60-Day Limited Warranty provided by 1stBike (“the Dealer”) upon the purchase of a used motorcycle. This warranty is in addition to the Customer’s statutory rights and should be read in conjunction with the full Terms and Conditions of Sale.

1. Warranty Period and Coverage

Duration: The warranty is valid for a period of 60 days commencing from the date the Customer takes physical possession of the motorcycle.

Scope of Cover: This warranty covers the failure of internal, lubricated components of the engine, gearbox, and final drive that fail due to manufacturing or material defects, rendering the motorcycle unfit for safe road use.

2. Warranty Exclusions (What is Not Covered)

The warranty explicitly excludes the following items and situations, as they are considered consumables, maintenance items, or damage caused by external factors:

2.1 Wear and Tear Items:

  • Tyres
  • Brake Pads, Discs, and Drums
  • Clutches and associated mechanisms
  • Drive chains, belts, and sprockets

2.2 Electrical and Maintenance Items:

  • All bulbs and lighting units
  • Fuses
  • All fluids, lubricants, and routine service items (e.g., oil filters, air filters, spark plugs)
  • Batteries

2.3 External Factors and Accessories:

  • Damage resulting from neglect, accidents, malicious damage, or external impact (e.g., stone chips, falls, collision).
  • Paintwork, trim, bodywork, and cosmetic items.
  • Any additional accessories or non-standard components fitted to the motorcycle that were not supplied on the original motorcycle at the moment of sale.
  • Damage caused by freezing, water ingress, or improper storage.

3. Claim Procedure and Repair Authority

The following procedure must be adhered to when making a warranty claim:

  1. Immediate Notification: The Customer must notify 1stBike immediately (ASAP) upon becoming aware of a potential fault or failure. This initial notification should be via telephone or email.
  2. Initial Assessment: 1stBike will conduct an initial assessment of the fault over the phone with the Customer.
  3. Repair Authority: If the fault cannot be diagnosed or resolved remotely, 1stBike must be given the first and full opportunity to inspect, collect, and repair the motorcycle at its premises.
  4. Third-Party Repairs: Repairs carried out by any third-party mechanic or workshop will not be covered under this warranty unless prior written agreement has been obtained from an authorized representative of 1stBike. Failure to obtain prior agreement will result in the claim being rejected.

4. Conditions That Will Void the Warranty

The warranty will be immediately and irrevocably void if any of the following conditions or actions occur:

  • Mileage Abuse: The motorcycle exceeds the agreed 1000 miles per month limit over the 60-day period (maximum of 2000 miles total).
  • Unauthorized Use: The motorcycle is used outside the manufacturer’s designed purpose (e.g., competitive racing, off-road use unless designed for it).
  • Unauthorized Modification: Any non-authorized modification or alteration is made to the motorcycle’s components, chassis, engine, or electrical system.
  • Neglect to Report: Failure by the Customer to notify 1stBike immediately of a fault or issue, allowing the fault to escalate into further damage.
  • Commercial Use: Using the motorcycle for commercial purposes, including but not limited to delivery, courier work, or taxi services.
  • Maintenance Failure: Failure to maintain and service the motorcycle in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

5. Transferability

This 60-Day Limited Warranty is Non-Transferable. It applies solely to the original purchaser (the Customer named on the sales invoice) and is not valid if the motorcycle is sold or transferred to a new owner during the 60-day period.
