EXO 2 Storm Chaser Jacket Black
After fully three years in development EXO2 have now launched the StormChaser. Heating via the unique FabRoc® polymeric technology is provided at the arms, neck and torso for a complete 'Heat-Surround' experience providing a constant, self-regulating 50°C heat output. Unisex styling in the Advance fabric offers a windproof, waterproof and breathable (moisture wicking) outer fabric which is machine washable. This innovative fabric will retain the warmth generated for efficient use in heating the body whilst wicking away moisture to keep the user dry and comfortable all day long.
StormChaser is powered by a straightforward connection to the motorcycle battery via the supplied loom or from an optional rechargeable power pack (Note: When using the optional power pack, heat operates in lower back/kidney area only). There is a plug assembly at each sleeve housed in a Velcro attaching pocket; these plugs enable the user to connect directly to the StormShield or StormGuard Heated Motorcycle Gloves without the requirement for a separate cable harness.
Power requirements approximately 5Amps at full power. StormChaser is the most energy efficient product of its kind on the market today, giving bikers the maximum evenly spread temperature performance across the entire area of the jacket for the lowest power draw from a motorcycle battery.
The jacket comes supplied with a standard power cable, which has an inline 10 Amp fuse. The fused line is to be connected to the positive terminal of the motorcycle battery. The other line is to be connected to the battery's negative terminal. To operate the StormChaser, simply plug the jacket's power cord into the fused cable 2.5mm socket.
The EXO2 In-Line Controllers and the 15v Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery (Power Pack) are optional, and they are not supplied with the jacket. These items will need to be purchased separately.

How does it work?
FabRoc® is a lightweight polymer that produces FIR (far infrared) heat energy when a low voltage is passed through it. This is what keeps you warm when wearing their products.
FabRoc® can be powered by either rechargeable batteries, a mains power adaptor, or from the accessory socket of a car or motorcycle.
You can choose the level of heat supplied with the controls on our lightweight battery packs, and the product will warm throughout the FabRoc® panels, with no hot spots.

How has this been tested?
FabRoc® has undergone extensive independent testing to identify its FIR range. The results of this testing show that where 1 is ideal and 0 represents zero emissions, the emission rates for FabRoc® within the key FIR wavelength band of 4 to 18 microns average between 0.862 and 0.875, which is in the highly effective range. This means that FabRoc® emits waves within the range that provides the most therapeutic benefit.
Is it safe?
Yes, completely! FabRoc® is intrinsically safe through being chemically inert. FabRoc® has an inbuilt safety cut-off and is self-regulating which means it cannot overheat or produce hotspots and therefore will not burn. It exhibits a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) which means there is no need for thermostats or fuses.
